Federal worker loses personal data of 5,000 Canadians

LONDON, Ont. – An electronic storage device containing personal information on about 5,000 Canadians has gone missing at the federal department responsible for pensions and employment programs.

An employee with Human Resources and Skills Development Canada (HRSDC) lost a USB stick containing social insurance numbers, medical records, birthdates, education levels, occupations and disability payments information.
