#CyberFLASH: Toronto teen mentioned in provincial website hack denies responsibility

cra-passwords-security_211076204-e1402005190177The high school student whose image appeared on the Ontario government website for a brief time on Friday night said he had nothing to do with the cyber attack that took down the site for about two hours.

“The people that do that stuff in my name are bored and they find it fun to harass people,” the soft-spoken Toronto 15-year-old told the Toronto Star.

Because the boy is under 18, the Star has chosen not to identify him.

The teen said the trouble began a few months ago after members of a team he was playing against in an online video game were defeated and became angry.

“I don’t know their real identities,” he said.

“I don’t even use the computer much anymore. I don’t want to have that stuff happen . . . I don’t want to be associated with it.”
