#CyberFLASH: Should police officers wear cameras?

li-saskatoon-police-car-201Following the events Ferguson, Missouri, many people are asking whether police officers should be wearing cameras.

Retired Saskatoon police officer Ernie Louttit was contemplating this question and tweeted:

“I wish I had had a body cam throughout my career. It would have saved me thousands of hours of court #Seewhatpolicesee”

Some people say body-worn cameras would protect police and the public. People against the cameras are worried about privacy.

Saskatoon Morning asked its audience the following questions: What do you think? Should Saskatoon police officers be wearing cameras? Would you feel safer? What are the positives and negatives of body-worn cameras?
