Canada expected to toughen stance on hacking


OTTAWA — As the U.S. signalled Wednesday it will “take the gloves off” on international hacking, attention in Canada turned to the question of when the federal government will ditch its own woolly mittens.

One expert’s prediction? Very soon.

“This is a historic day … the U.S. is setting a precedent and other countries will follow suit,” said Tom Kellermann, vice-president of cyber-security for Trend Micro and former member of the Commission on Cyber-security for U.S. President Barack Obama.
