Anonymous Québec vows to boycott Montreal F1 Grand Prix

MONTREAL – The cyber-activist group Anonymous has vowed to disrupt Montreal’s Grand Prix race next week.

In support of protesters demonstrating against planned university tuition hikes, the group said it will wreak havoc with the Formula One event, which runs June 8-10 and is expected to attract as many as 300,000 spectators.

Anonymous has promised to attack websites, attempt to disrupt the race by interfering with servers and “wreck anything F1-related” it finds on the Internet.

We highly suggest that you join the boycott of the F1 in Montreal, and we certainly recommend that you do not purchase any tickets or merchandise online,” the group said in a news release. “You have been warned.”
